Adding more RAM to your notebook or Laptop

PLEASE NOTE: Before we start Not all Laptops have the Access to the RAM slots disscused in this tutorial, If yours does not please do not attempt to install the RAM yourself, You will need a qualified Pc or laptop repair technician to do this for you.

How its done

(1)

Turn of your Laptop and remove all cords including the battery, the battery may still hold electrical charge and fry your mainboard so be sure to to remove it!

On a flat surface, turn over your laptop and find the RAM access panel which should be located on the bottom of your laptop there should be a little picture of a "memory module" or "computer chip" just above or on the panel.

Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the panel and store in a safe location.

You should now see the empty slot ready for the new ram to be placed.

With your new RAM stick ready, insert at an angle (as seen in pic) ensuring the gold pins enter first.

With your new RAM stick in place, With your finger gently push the RAM down until you hear a 'Click'

Then proceed to replace your laptop panel.
